A challenge to beat 52 games in a year, for those that play far too many games. A game a week is probably a healthy target, somehow. The challenge originates from the NeoGAF and ResetEra game forums, and has expanded into a Discord community that is represented on this Backlog Beat website. All are welcome and the rules are light, so join on in if it's something of interest.

For tracking completions you can add a post to either NeoGAF or ResetEra and follow the steps outlined there, or you can request a Google spreadsheet to be made for you (like this one) and have your updates tracked automagically!
That's up to you, it could be completing the game or playing 3hrs+ if it has no ending or is a MP game. You can do replays, as long as all the games are completed in the current year.
No, though most platforms (Steam, Xbox, Nintendo, etc) will now do it for free, so its a nice extra!
Not required but very much welcomed. A few words and maybe a quick score does wonders to share your impressions with other users as you go. Full blown mini-reviews aren't necessary.
That's up to you. It's alright to count something like Life is Strange as one or five games. Your choice.
